Often times, us moms and women in general get so busy with life that it leaves us with very little time, if any at all, to ourselves. Between work and being our kids’ drivers, appointment schedulers, chefs, project facilitators, personal assistants, the list goes on and on, what time can we possibly have to ourselves?
While I agree that yes, life does get hectic, ladies: let’s STOP making excuses and let’s make ourselves and our health and fitness goals a priority. We tend to make time for what’s truly important to us, so set time apart for YOU because YOU are important.
Set a time for yourself that works for you – whether it be at 5 a.m. (yes, I said 5 a.m.), during your lunch break, while your kids are off in their extracurricular activities or even later in the evening – and give yourself YOUR time. Schedule appointments with yourself and don’t miss those appointments!
No idea what to do and how to start? It’s simple – just get moving! Find what works for you. Whether you go for a jog, jump rope, put together your own exercise routines or join a fitness class, just get moving!
Andddd to give you an extra motivational boost, I’ve teamed up with GRIT MIAMI and we’re giving away a package of 5 group fitness classes at their South Miami gym. GRIT MIAMI’s classes are the perfect mix between CrossFit, HIIT workouts and strength training — put together in a fun way and you’re guaranteed to be surrounded by amazing energy. They hold classes just about every hour starting at 5:30 a.m. through 9 p.m. so no excuses allowed!
To enter our giveaway, all you have to do is comment below and tell me what gets you motivated to work out! So sorry for my non-local readers but more giveaways to come.
Now, what’s stopping you? Let’s stop making excuses and let’s take the first step towards meeting our health and fitness goals. Once again, if it’s truly important to you – which it should be – you will make the time for it. Where there’s a will, there’s a way.

My children are my great motivation to work out. To be healthy enough to enjoy them as they grow. And although being a full time working single mom I think it’s important to set an example and let your children see it’s important to take care of yourself. A happy momma=Happy Kiddos🙂

Nice article! My favorite time to work out is in the morning, whether it’s at 5am or 630 during the week or 8am on the weekends. Once i i start seeing results,k it becomes an addiction to me. Also, it’s the way I can release any stress or anxiety life throughs my way.

In 2017, Lazy me would say there is nothing better than taking all my time off around my busy schedule and binge watching Netflix. However, when I felt that funk and found my workouts “monotonous” I promised myself I would switch it up with an outdoor workout or a pilates/cycle/barre class. I walked into 2018 making a personal goal to spend a minimum of 30 minutes a day doing some version of exercise (gym, walking, hiking, swimming, gym, cycle/pilates class, etc) I am also really grateful to live in a city with so much to offer as far as different landscapes to take to my advantage, Sure I can be lazy and stay home every day of the week but nothing can replace a great workout paired with yummy nutritious foods (which i have also been experimenting with asking the help of family and friends). Finding the motivation to workout is simple when you make it a lifestyle and you find that it something you can learn to enjoy!
